SYNOPSIS

Deutsch: Manuel, der autistische Züge hat, arbeitet als Gärtner im Botanischen Garten. Während seine pedantische Mutter ihn drängt, endlich eine Frau kennenzulernen, möchte Manuel lieber weiter in seiner abgeschiedenen Pflanzenwelt leben. Doch die junge Eisverkäuferin Victoria hat ein Auge auf den schüchternen Gärtner geworfen – und gibt nicht auf. In ihrem Versuch, ihrem Schwarm näherzukommen, überschreitet sie mehr als nur eine Grenze.

Nightshades is an exploration of obsession and a playful attempt to approach the essence of intimacy and individual distance. The film traces the fragile lines between closeness and transgression, always with the intention to not only depict them but to explore them in a searching and playful way.
